Good Read

To All the Mothers Out There... and to the Mothers-to-be:

Joel's brother, Jamie, sent out this article the other day and I thought it was really good. I'm not a mom yet, but it resonated with me still. Enjoy!

  1. I can't tell you how many times I've talked to my fellow mommy friends about that guilt we get when we have kids. It's unbelievable. I remember distinctly waking in the middle of the night at the hospital, the night after Patrick was born to a flood tears. It was if by bringing this little life into the world, just opened up my heart to be raw and bare and vulnerable. Realizing that I would never have complete control despite feeling like I should be able to protect and support this little person through life was almost too much to bear. And as we walk through life, raising these little guys, it's tough to cut ourselves some slack. The guilt builds up but then if you can remember you are only human and forgiven in the end, then, well, it can keep it at bay. All that to say, any encouragement in the guilt we harbor on raising our kids is much appreciated! Thanks Hailes.
