I was going to try to paper mache some giant eggs over balloons with the flour based stuff and newspaper and then have them paint them another day. I thought of making a nest and keeping them warm and "hatching" them on Easter morning with their typical Easter goodies inside turning this maybe into a yearly tradition. If I can hold their attention long enough to get them enough layers to make it strong enough, that is.
you could make cotton ball bunnies or flowers with pipe cleaners and paper. you could make peanut butter/pine cone bird feeders. i don't know, i'm not a mom, but these are things I remember doing as a kid that were fun.
Update: So Aeneas was more interested in stomping through the goop we managed to drip on the floor and I still haven't gotten all of the flour mixture off of everything but Patrick really enjoyed it. So we will see if they dry hard enough to use. I thought about using tissue paper for an outside layer instead of painting them. I'm headed to the store on Wed so we'll see what I come home with I guess!
We are seven sisters joined by marriage. Spanning across six states from the Deep South to the Ozarks to the Rockies. We come together to love and encourage each other. Sharing our lives from crafting, to parenting, cooking, to spirituality. We have a lot to learn from one other. This is our place. These are our lives.
